Daily 3 FAQs
From purchasing tickets to picking your bet type or claiming prizes, you can find out more about MI Daily 3 by looking through the frequently asked questions below.
What is Daily 3?
Daily 3 is the name of Michigan’s three-digit lottery, which is known as Pick 3 in many other states. You have to select three numbers from 0 to 9, and draws take place twice a day.
What time is the drawing?
The Midday draw takes place at 12:59 p.m., with the Evening draw at 7:29 p.m.
When do ticket sales close?
Ticket sales close at 12:39 p.m. for the Midday draw, and 7:08 p.m. for the Evening draw. In both cases there is a break for two minutes, before sales resume for the next draw.
How do I play?
As well as picking three numbers from 0 to 9, you have to choose your wager amount and the type of bet you want. You can find a full step-by-step guide on the How to Play page.
What bet types are available?
You can play a Straight, Box, Wheel, 2-Way or 1-Off bet. A Straight is a wager on your three numbers appearing in that exact order, whereas your numbers can appear in any order if you play a Box. A 2-Way splits your wager between a Straight and a Box. If you play a Wheel, every combination of your chosen numbers is entered as separate Straight. A 1-Off bet allows you to win even if one of your numbers does not match the winning line exactly. Go to the Bet Types page to learn more about all these options.
How do I win a prize?
To win a prize, you have to match your numbers to the numbers that are drawn. You must also meet the conditions of your bet type, whether you have to match the numbers exactly or not. There is no prize for matching just one or two of the numbers.
How much can I win?
The most you can win is $500 for a Straight. Each bet type has its own fixed prize, proportional to the wager amount.
How much can I wager?
You can either pay $0.50 or $1 per wager.
Can I play multiple consecutive drawings?
Yes, you can play your numbers in up to 60 consecutive drawings. You just need to mark a number in the multiple draw wagers area.
What are the odds of winning?
The odds of matching all three numbers exactly in order are 1 in 1,000. Your chances of winning are different for all the other bet types.
